St. Patrick’s Day is traditionally a time when people go to bars and celebrate the Irish culture, but each year, police departments around the country warn people to plan their night in advance.
Prior to the holiday this year, Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer asked people to celebrate responsibly and to make sure they had a safe ride home.
That warning appears to have worked, as we have not received any notices of drunk driving arrests, however, it was a different scenario in Green Bay.
The Green Bay Police Department has revealed that nine people were arrested for OWI while 41 citations and 51 warnings were issued for other traffic-related violations.
Four other non-drunk driving arrests were also made.
