
A dominant performance all over the court helped push the UW Green Bay women’s basketball team into the second round of the NIT tournament.
The Phoenix knocked out Niagara with an 84-52 pounding.
The Purple Eagles only shot 1-17 from beyond the arc, and 29% from the field, while the Phoenix went 5-14 from three-point land and 59% from the field.
Cassie Schiltz, a Luxemburg-Casco grad, was a force to be reckoned with 22 points, while Appleton North grad Sydney Levy netted 19 while snagging 6 takeaways.
The Phoenix will take the weekend to recover before battling Bowling Green on Monday.
That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay.
