At the Wisconsin Capitol, there is a plan to make the Henry 45-70 the official state firearm of Wisconsin.
Legislation from state representatives. Dave Armstrong, Treig Pronschinske, and James Edming, in addition to state Senator Romaine Quinn, would serve as a symbol because neither the state nor anyone else would be required to purchase the rifle.
Henry has its headquarters in Rice Lake and a plant in Ladysmith.
There are official state rifles in at least nine other states across the nation.
