A 36-year-old Manitowoc man is free on a $3,500 signature bond following his arrest on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated-Fourth Offense.
A Manitowoc Police Officer was making his way through the intersection of South 15th and Franklin Streets around 2 a.m. Monday morning, when a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Daniel W. Fabian failed to stop at a stop sign nearly striking the officer’s squad car.
Fabian was pulled over with the officer stating in his report that he noticed the smell of intoxicants coming from Fabian’s vehicle.
He admitted that he had been drinking at a nearby tavern and was driving with a revoked license.
Fabian was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, then transported to the Manitowoc Police Department where he failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Conditions of Bail are that Fabian is to maintain “absolute sobriety” and is not to drive a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
He is due back in court for an initial appearance on April 3rd at 1:30.
