The Green Bay Police Department has identified the man whose body was pulled from the east river over the weekend.
47-year-old Dennis Doxtater somehow entered the water near the 1400 block of East Walnut Street.
A passerby noticed a backpack near a hole in the ice at around 6:00 a.m. and called 911. Police, Fire Rescue, and Dive Teams responded, and they pulled Doxtater’s body from the river at around 10:15 a.m.
At this time, it does not appear as though there was any foul play, but the investigation is not over.
The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy.
