
The Green Bay Police Department removed a body from the East River Saturday.
Their Dive Team was called to the portion of the River near the 1400 block of East Walnut Street at around 6:00 a.m. when a passerby reported seeing a backpack next to a hole in the ice.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department also responded as crews began rescue efforts.
The body of the 47-year-old man was recovered just after 10:00 a.m.
The identity of the man will not be released until his family has been notified, and investigators say there is no sign of foul play.
