A farm in De Pere will be paying up big after violating Wisconsin’s wastewater laws.
The Department of Justice and Ledgeview Farms have come to a settlement agreement, which has the farm on Dickenson Road paying out $320,000 in fines.
A statement from the DOJ says that Ledgeview Farms “operated their large CAFO for years without the legally required Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.”
It also noted that they “did not have adequate manure storage and failed to upgrade or stop using numerous facilities that did not comply with applicable engineering standards.”
In total, they were found liable for all 19 charges they were facing.
