An Appleton man charged in a stabbing case from nearly two years ago has been ruled competent to stand trial.
That ruling was handed down by Judge Emily Lonergan against 32-year-old Cornelius Pearson as he faces two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide as well as counts of Armed Robbery, Burglary while Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Bail Jumping.
Pearson is accused of attacking a couple in a motel room on Richmond Street on March 18th, 2021.
Pearson has also rejected a plea deal and is choosing to go to trial.
The five-day trial will run from March 27th through the 31st in Branch 2 in the Outagamie County Courthouse.
