According to We Energies, a brush fire in Menomonee Falls likely caused the power outage yesterday.
About 3,000 people lost access to electricity Tuesday evening.
A spokeswoman for We Energies stated that the company believes the fire played a role in the outage, though they are unsure exactly what caused it.
According to Menomonee Falls firefighters, the fire destroyed approximately 15 acres of grassland.
The cause of the fire is a mystery to them.
At one point, neighbors claim, flames shot eight feet into the air.
