Taylor D. Schabusines
Just days after a new attorney was named for a woman accused of a grizzly murder in Green Bay, that lawyer is now looking to get a new judge on the case.
Attorney Christopher Froelich filed that motion on Wednesday, saying that he is concerned that Judge Thomas Walsh will pre-judge his client because of the recent attack on her previous attorney.
Froelich cited state law, which says a judge should disqualify themselves if they “cannot, or it appears he or she cannot, act in an impartial manner.”
Schabusiness is due back in court today (March 3rd) for a status conference, and a competency hearing is planned for Monday.
She has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or deficit on charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Mutilating a Corpse, and 3rd Degree Sexual Assault in the death of Shad Thyrion last February.
