
It was a chaotic scene at Appleton’s Xavier High School yesterday.
Students had begun filing out of the school for a routine fire drill at around 11:45 a.m. when the Outagamie County Emergency Dispatch Center received a call indicating an active threat.
Several squad cars rushed to the scene, where they were able to clear the building within only a few minutes.
Crews remained on the scene for some time conducting additional follow-through investigations, but no safety concerns were identified.
As of the latest update, which came in just after noon, the incident is still under investigation.
