Most of Green Bay’s aldermen didn’t learn about the secret microphones at city hall until earlier this year.
Green Mayor installed microphones outside of the city council chambers, the clerk’s office, and his office as far back as late 2021, but most city leaders didn’t find out until the end of last month.
Alderman Randy Scannell says he found out about the microphones, and what they were recording, just a couple of weeks ago, but he insists the mayor wasn’t ‘spying’ on anyone.
Other aldermen say that’s exactly what Green Bay’s mayor was doing, they want the microphones removed
