A Manitowoc man has been sentenced in a sexual assault case.
44-year-old Darrick Bolden was initially charged in March of 2021 with Engaging in Repeated Acts of Sexual Assault of a Minor and Felony Bail Jumping, but the first charge was amended to 3rd Degree Sexual Assault.
Bolden was found guilty of that charge due to a no-contest plea, and judge Robert Dewane decided to withhold his sentence and place Bolden on probation for five years.
The bail jumping charge was dismissed but read into the record.
He was also ordered to spend 180 days in the Manitowoc County Jail, however, he was given credit for 479 days.
The victim came forward to police in 2021, saying that Bolden had assaulted them multiple times over an eight-month period in 2020.
They also said that Bolden threatened to hurt them if they came forward.
