The DNR is reminding those with permanent ice shanties that deadlines to remove them are fast approaching.
In fact, shanties are required to be off of waters on the Wisconsin/Iowa boundary by today.
The next date of note is March 1st when shanties will need to be off waters on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border.
Four days later they will need to be off of inland waters south of Highway 64, and they must be removed from the Wisconsin/Michigan boundary waters by March 5th.
Shanties on Lake Michigan, Green Bay, Lake Superior, and inland waters north of Highway 64 must be removed by March 19th.
