
The quick actions of firefighters in Sheboygan helped reduce the amount of damage to a home that caught fire Monday morning.
According to Sheboygan Fire Department Battalion Chief Chase Longmiller, crews were sent out to the 1200 block of South 17th street at around 9:30 a.m. on a report of a house fire.
The first units on the scene arrived within three minutes of the report and found heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the residence.
The occupants of the residence had already evacuated, and firefighters were able to enter the residence and extinguish the fire within minutes of their arrival.
Nobody was displaced as a result of the fire and there were no injuries.
In fact, the fire caused only an estimated $750 in damage.
