The Manitowoc United JV hockey team was once again involved in a close, back-and-forth contest against the WNS Co-Op, but fell 4-3 on the road.
Manitowoc’s Reed Neuser opened up the scoring with a goal halfway through the first period on an assist from Josse Busse.
WNS would answer with a goal toward the end of the 1st, and 10 minutes into the 2nd.
Not known for giving up, Manitowoc quickly responded when Sam Hinz berried a shorthanded goal with an assist from Neuser.
WNS would again take the lead on the powerplay just a few seconds later, but again, Manitowoc kept grinding.
Five minutes into the 3rd, Senior Walker Lindboom would tie it up, again on a feed from Neuser, but in a bit of déjà vu, WNS would score the game-winning goal with just 25 seconds left, shorthanded.
Goalie Dan Karlin would end up with 34 saves on the night as Manitowoc falls to 3-10-2 on the season.
They will be back at home this Friday as they take on Marinette.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
