A number of local and area residents were honored or played key roles at last weekend’s Wisconsin FFA Alumni and Supporters Convention in Waukesha.
The annual awards banquet program at the Milwaukee Marriott West hotel and convention center included the retirement address of state association President Terri Wilfert of Mishicot and the recognition of numerous award winners.
Several teachers were honored with Outstanding Agriculture Educator Awards, earning a cash prize.
One of them, Mary Handrich from Denmark, was named the state-winning educator.
One of the two Outstanding Achievement awards was presented to Steve Vogel of Denmark.
And, the Denmark chapter was one of four FFA Alumni & Supporters chapters to receive a gold rating in the National Outstanding Chapter Awards and will have their applications submitted to the national level of competition.
Also, Schultz Trucking of Denmark received the Team Ag-Ed Contributor Business award for their service, support, and commitment to FFA, its alumni, and Agriculture Education.
