Karen Ann Tuesburg, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home.
She was born May 30, 1943 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Leon and Helen (Becker) Novak. Karen attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School, Washington Junior High, and then graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1961. On August 25, 1962 she married Jan Tuesburg at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Karen was employed at Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Shady Lane Nursing Home, and L.D.I. Industries, retiring in 2008. She loved walking, fishing, and traveling with Jan. Karen also enjoyed being at home and tending to her flower garden. Above all, she loved her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years: Jan Tuesburg; her three children: son: Steven (Victoria) Tuesburg, Mackville, WI, and their son: Nathan (Fiance Olivia) and his son Ethan; son: Michael (Kristi) Tuesburg, Manitowoc, and their children: Joshua (Jennifer) Tuesburg and their children: Jacob and Harper, Kenneth Tuesburg, Dustin Tuesburg (Significant other Tony), Emma Jean (Doug) Bergman, and Michaela (Erik) Knepfel and daughter: Kelly (Mike) Sgarioto, Manitowoc, and her children: Dominique Sgarioto and Vincent Sgarioto; her brother: Wayne (Mary) Novak, Sheboygan Falls, WI, and their children: Amanda and Patrick; her sister-in-law: Shirley Novak, Jacksonville, Florida, and her children Dean and Nanette; her sister-in-law: Kay Koffarnus of Brillion and her family; as well as two cousins: Lona (Peter) Reginelli and Gary (Nancy) Erickson. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father: Alex Becker; her sister: Nancy Novak; her brother: Richard Novak; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Matt Colle. Following services, cremation will occur at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, and Karen will be interred at Harmony Haven Columbarium of Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. After the Mass, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc.
