Assemblyman Paul Tittl has been busy to start the year.
The 25th Assembly District Representative tells Seehafer News that he has introduced eight bills covering a wide variety of topics, including allowing adults the ability to get a copy of their original unaltered birth certificate.
Another of his bills aims to address a teacher shortage.
“The Retired Annuitant Teacher Bill would allow retired teachers to be rehired as substitute teachers and continue collecting their retirement,” Tittl explained. “This is to address the substitute teacher shortage we are experiencing right now.”
Some of his bills even have significant support from both sides of the political aisle, including his Treatment Alternative Diversion (TAD) Funding Bill which Tittl said will “expand TAD Courts to include Mental Health Courts.”
Speaking of mental health, Tittl has also introduced a Psychiatrist Tax Incentive Bill which “creates an individual income tax credit for income earned from the practice of psychiatry, thus providing more mental health services for people in the State of Wisconsin.”
He also took aim at children’s ability to access harmful materials in school and at a public library with his Harmful Materials Bill.
He also introduced a Lemon Law Farm Equipment Bill, and a Corrections Personal Property Bill, which increases the property limit an inmate can possess, which hasn’t been changed since 1994.
Tittl also introduced a bill that aims to help the medical field.
He told us “The Spinal Cord Injury Bill creates research grants, and makes an appropriation for spinal cord research.”
Tittl noted that a lot of these bills have bi-partisan support, and he believes that they have a good chance of making their way through the legislative process, and onto Governor Tony Evers’ desk for approval.
