Grace E. Schleis, age 91, longtime resident of Mishicot, currently residing at the Northland Lodge in Two Rivers, entered eternal life Sunday evening, January 29, 2023.
Survivors include her three children: Mark (Gayle) Schleis of Summerville, S.C., Nancy (Gordon) Haak of Elkhorn, WI, and Rev. Paul (Denise) Schleis of Green Bay; six grandchildren: Jessica Gall, Andrea Gall, Rev. Keith (Dawn) Schleis, John (Amy) Schleis, Dr. Greg (Cait) Schleis, Adam Schleis; and six great-grandchildren: Caleb, Carter, Charlotte, Naomi, Selah, and Lollie. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Carol Jindra of Mishicot; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and her beloved cat, “Spookie”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Leona Jindra, Sr.; her husband, Emil “Red” Schleis, Jr.; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Emil and Carrie Schleis, Sr.; son-in-law, Thomas Gall; sister, Ethel (Eddie) Breitwisch; brothers: Alvin (Billie Fey) Jindra, Roy Jindra, Dan (Patricia) Jindra; and in-laws: Alice (Jim) Anderle, Gladys (Dan) Nejedlo, and Janice (Gordon) Pautz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 325 Randolph Street, Mishicot. Her son, Rev. Paul Schleis, grandson, Rev. Keith Schleis, and Rev. Joel Stuebs will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
