Robert Victor Krejcie was born in Manitowoc, WI on April 4, 1936 to the late Victor and Agnes (Dewane) Krejcie. As Hebrews 9:27 says, “…it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment”, and Bob’s appointment was January 29, 2023. He passed peacefully into eternal life to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, at home with his wife, Evelyn, by his side.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1954, Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in 1958 from the University of Wisconsin-Stout while working summers at Weyerhaeuser to pay for his tuition. He met his wife, Evelyn Faith Boehme, in 1960 when they worked at AC Spark Plug in Milwaukee and the two were married on June 17th, 1961. They welcomed their first of 5 children in 1962, the same year he began teaching at the School for Boys in Wales. In 1966, he earned his Masters degree from Stout, before attending the University of Missouri from 1966-1968 where he earned his Doctorate in Education. He was a professor for 22 years at University of Minnesota, Duluth where he started the Master of Industrial Safety Degree program. In 1978 he began earning a Bible diploma from Liberty University, and eventually became an ordained minister. After retiring from UMD, he and his wife were owner/operators of the Maple Hill Bakery in Maple for 3 years. He returned to the classroom as a middle and high school history and science teacher at Maranatha Christian Academy in Superior, WI. In 1993, he moved his wife and youngest child to Pheonix, AZ where he taught at Northwest Christian Academy in Glendale, AZ. In 1995, he returned to his hometown with his family, where he was a substitute teacher for several years at many of the local Manitowoc schools. After his teaching career, he volunteered at Holy Family Memorial in Manitowoc for over 15 years.
Serving his country, Bob was a member of the 32nd Division, Army National Guard and was a reservist in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962. He was a member of American Legion Post 88, and a local board member of the U.S. Selective Service System, WI Region 1. Serving his local community, Bob was a graduate of the Manitowoc Police Department’s Citizens Academy, a member of the Manitowoc TRIAD and Manitowoc County Deputy Sheriffs & Constables Association. Most importantly, he was a Chaplain of the Lake Superior Chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Assoc., pastor at Rosethorn Ministries in Manitowoc, ministered to those in the Wisconsin prison system, and a Police Chaplain for the Manitowoc P.D.. Through these roles over his lifetime, he shared the gospel and saving grace of God’s word to countless individuals, and led many to salvation through Jesus Christ.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn, Manitowoc, WI; sister, Marjorie LaBrecque Manitowoc, WI; daughter Colleen (David) Jennings Manitowoc, WI; son Steven (Deb) Milwaukee, WI; son Edward (Theresa) Durand, MI; son William (Tammy) Maple, WI; daughter Kathleen (Joshua) Halligan Manitowoc, WI; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Agnes Krejcie, sister and brother-in-law Bernadette and Richard Lambert, brother-in-law John LaBrecque, sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Kenneth Bureau.
Bob shared his love of Jesus with everyone. His heart’s desire was and is that “none should perish, but all would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.”
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 2201 South 42nd Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jeremy Vance. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 88 of Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requests a donation to the Manitowoc Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
