A section of Manitowoc’s Lincoln Park will once again be closed off as crews remove trees infected with the Emerald Ash Borer.
The entire park with the exception of the Lincoln Park Zoo will be closed.
Those who wish to visit the zoo are being asked to use the Reed Avenue entrance on the north side.
Serenity Farm Landscaping has been hired to remove the affected trees, which is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
Dan Koski, the City’s Director of Public Infrastructure tells us that “The emerald ash borer is having devastating effects on the City’s ash trees… The focus of the Forestry Division right now is the removal of EAB-infected trees.”
If you need more information on the EAB or how the City is handling the situation, you are encouraged to call the Department of Infrastructure Parks Division at 920-686-3580 or visit Manitowoc.org/parks.
