The Appleton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Briarcliff Drive just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday on a report of a man bleeding in the middle of the road.
The first officers on the scene located the 56-year-old victim and noticed injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported the man to an area hospital, where at last word he remained in critical condition.
