A Manitowoc man has been arrested after he allegedly used his cellphone to view child pornography.
Officers made contact with the 32-year-old man at his apartment in the 500 block of North 9th Street on Wednesday to follow up with an investigation by Internet Crimes Against Children.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report from the organization noting that four videos depicting children being sexually assaulted were uploaded from this residence.
The officers spoke with the suspect, who admitted to using his personal cellphone to view pornography but claimed he did not have any explicit images or videos of children.
That was determined to be incorrect as 236 images and videos were found on the device.
The suspect noted that his girlfriend, whom he was living with, could not have had access to the phone as she did not know his passcode.
The man has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
