A man was arrested in Manitowoc early this morning after he failed to pay cab fare.
The cab driver called the Manitowoc Police Department and requested to speak to an officer when a 20-year-old man was unable to pay his fare.
The driver informed the responding officer that the man tried using two different credit cards, both of which were denied.
He also noted that he had a card that belonged to someone else.
The officer called the owner of that card, who had filed a police report earlier in the day in Two Rivers after she lost it outside of the Piggly Wiggly store.
When confronted with this information, the man admitted that he found the card on the ground outside the store and decided to use it for his own purposes.
He has been charged with Fraud on a Taxi Cab Driver, Unauthorized Use of an Individual’s Personal Information or Documents, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
