The City of Manitowoc is continuing to have issues with the Emerald Ash Borer.
In a news release, the Parks and Recreations Division said that the invasive species has had “devastating effects on the City’s ash trees… The Forestry Division is doing their best to remove the infected trees before they become hazardous, especially in or near areas which are used by the public.”
That work will continue today as crews from Serenity Farm Landscaping Inc. will be logging infested trees at Lincoln Park which will result in temporary road and trail closures in that area.
Closures will be limited to the areas adjacent to where logging operations will occur, which will be mainly in the east half of the park.
The end date of the project is unknown at this time as weather will be a factor, but the project is expected to take one to two weeks.
