The Manitowoc Police Department is advising the public that a man convicted of sex crimes is being released from jail and will be living in Manitowoc.
41-year-old Matthew E. Mayer was previously convicted of Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child, 4th Degree Sexual Assault, and Sex with a Child Age 16 or Older.
He will be residing in the 1100 block of South 19th Street and is registered with the Sex Offender Registration Program for life.
Mayer has served his sentence as imposed by the courts and is not wanted by the police at this time.
The Department releases this information not to cause fear within the community, but rather to keep them informed.
Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass Mayer will not be tolerated.
