Two Rivers City leaders voiced their support of a couple of proposed projects earlier this week.
City Manager Greg Buckley told us that during their meeting on Monday, the Plan Commission recommended the City Council approve a conditional use permit for the property at 1010 34th Street for what he called “some mini storage units combined with a growth garage.”
Buckley explained that “The developer there proposing three, I believe, 1200 square foot spaces that could be rented to contractors for actual contractor offices and operations.”
Buckley said that would essentially serve as an “incubator” for small trade type businesses.
The Commission also approved the site and architectural plans for a propagation center at the Van Der Brohe Arboretum, which he explained, “can be used for maintenance activities and for propagating plants that will be planted on the grounds.”
Buckley went on to say that the transformation of the former Emerald Hills Golf Couse to an arboretum has been “amazing” noting that there were over 750 native trees planted out there just this last spring.
