A woman has been arrested after taking cash from a woman’s coat pocket at a Manitowoc bar.
Officers were called to Tower Tavern on Water Street at around 7:30 Wednesday evening to investigate the claim.
A staff member at Tower Tavern pulled the security footage, which showed a 29-year-old woman reaching into the coat pocket of the suspect and taking cash while she was at a gambling machine.
The victim claimed the amount taken was around $800.
The officer recognized the suspect and attempted to call her.
The suspect hung up the phone the first time she was called but eventually spoke with the officer.
She told the officer that she has a gambling problem and used some of it at the gambling machine at the Marathon gas station.
The woman was placed under arrest and charged with Theft, Felony Bail Jumping, and was placed on a probation hold.
