A city leader in Green Bay is calling on the State Legislature to redistribute the surplus money in the State budget.
It has been estimated that the State of Wisconsin will have a $6.6 billion surplus in this coming budget leaving many to wonder what will actually be done with that money.
Green Bay Alderman Brian Johnson suggests the state reallocate that cash to municipalities for investments into public safety.
Johnson has stated that he would like to use some of the money to help pay for new police headquarters and a new fire station, which are already on the City’s agenda.
Representative Paul Tittl has gone on record to say that he would like to see that money given back as well.
