Briess Industries has responded to the report that OSHA has cited them for several violations at their Manitowoc malting plant.
We spoke with Ron Schroder, the Director of Marketing at Briess, who admitted that they indeed have been cited.
“Briess employee health and safety remain our first priority,” he stated. “We will continue to work cooperatively with OSHA to address their findings, as we will make sure that our facilities are being operated at the highest standards of health and safety. This includes ensuring that our programs are fully effective and that we continue to make capital & equipment investments to support that mission.”
As a part of the citation, Briess is required to take action, which Schroder said they “will be following up with OSHA during the next 15 days, consistent with what I mentioned earlier about continuing to work cooperatively with OSHA.”
He also stated “We are absolutely doing the best we can for our employees and the citizens of Manitowoc.
