The Sheboygan City Council has terminated City Administrator Todd Wolf.
During last night’s Common Council meeting, eight alders voted in favor of removing Wolf from his position while two opposed.
The exact reason for the termination was never officially released, however, WHBL Radio in Sheboygan reported that it revolves around money, and a Diversity and Inclusion initiative.
The firing was listed as “without cause” meaning no criminal activity was uncovered thought the investigation, the results of which have yet to be revealed.
The public was given time to voice their comments, and one resident, Aaron Guenther, voiced his desire to hear what exactly happened.
“We demand to know what happened,” he said. “Did Todd Wolf steal money? Did he abuse a child? Was he accused of sexual assault at the office? Is he the target of a witch hunt? The Council has said nothing, except that there was an investigation and that you want to remove him, and not for cause as a result of this investigation.”
Former Mayor Mike Vandersteen also took to the microphone to defend the Administrator.
“I worked extensively with Todd Wolf as a committee appointee, an Alderperson, Council President, and administrator,” he revealed. “During his tenured timeframe, I found him to be very dedicated to serving the residents of Sheboygan as Administrator. He has worked transparently and diligently to create synergy within our departments and improve services that would provide efficiency and many cost savings.”
As for what is next, that is not known at this time as the meeting was held last night, however, a lawsuit could be filed against the city by Wolf.
