The state’s Department of Natural Resources is being called in to help clean up butter in Portage.
A fire at the Associated Milk Producers facility in Portage on Monday melted 20 gallons of butter.
That butter washed into the sewers, and is now causing problems at Portage’s wastewater treatment plant.
DNR regulators say there’s been a minimal impact from the butter spill on the environment.
Firefighters in Portage aren’t sure yet just what caused the fire.
