The Two Rivers Public School District is getting all of the details worked out for the renovation project at L.B. Clarke Middle School.
The project was made possible thanks to the voters, who passed a $38.7 million referendum during the November election.
Superintendent Diane Johnson was on WOMT’s Be My Guest program earlier this week, where she said thank you to the community for approving that measure.
“It passed by 63%,” she revealed. “Lots of people voting, we had 3,190 yes’s and 1894 no’s.”
She was joined by Tim Wester, the principal at L.B. Clarke Middle School, who noted that a large portion of that money is actually going to the Middle School.
“For me, the biggest thing is space,” he said. “If you visit our school during the school day, the halls and many of the classrooms, we are cramped.”
Part of that expansion would be the addition of a 5th Grade wing, a new gymnasium, an expanded lunchroom, and an expanded Tech Ed space.
“The Tech Ed renovation and additions will be a really big boost to our tech ed program as a district as well,” the principal said. “Basically our entire back hall of the building will turn into a tech ed wing.”
A team with the Two Rivers Public School District is currently working out the details for all of the changes and upgrades.
The proposals should all be ready to go out for bid in the fall.
