Hundreds of families will be coming to Manitowoc this weekend for the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Convention at the Holiday Inn.
The Manitowoc County and Calumet County Juniors are the host organizations.
According to Manitowoc County Ag Educator Angie Ulness, this convention is actually setting a record for attendance over the past five years, with 410 families registered to attend.
She said the high attendance is, “Party due because everybody is back competing again after COVID, and it’s a nice location here in Manitowoc to have the convention.”
Ulness told Seehafer News that the convention hasn’t been hosted locally since 2005, so she and the rest of the Extension team are very excited.
“There’s speaking contests, interviews, Dairy Jeopardy, where they have to answer dairy fact questions on their own, and then Diary Bowl,” Ulness explained. “Teams of four compete against another team of four from a different county, and then we crown the champion. [The winner] will compete in Kentucky in June.”
