Gun violence has been an issue in Green Bay for several years, but it appears as though the work being done by the Green Bay Police Department is paying off.
The Department is reporting a 25.6% decrease in shots fired cases in 2022.
61 such cases occurred last year, compared to the 82 reported the year prior, many of which came toward the end of 2021.
Police Chief Chris Davis said in a statement that this change is “a direct result of a lot of hard work by our police professionals and our community partners in this effort. We still have work to do, but our efforts so far are paying dividends and we are headed in the right direction.”
