The Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County has been awarded a $10,000 grant from International Paper Foundation.
Fund will support Project iLearn which is barrier-free, no-cost access to tools needed to continue academic learning, specifically in this case, digital learning with the use of iPads.
Project iLearn will assist in members’ educational learning by providing high-yield digital learning opportunities utilizing educational applications focused on K-12 Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Science.
Offering access to apps and tools that many members are familiar with using in school, will allow the Club to meet the individualized needs of each child and help them grow and build new skills.
Connor Schultz, the Director of the local Boys and Girls Club, said of the program, “Everyone has a learning style that works best for them and by implementing iPads into Club-based learning, we hope to bridge any gaps that kids may be facing. Access to mobile technology will also allow us to expand our programs to include more activities such as mixed media, STEM projects and more.”
