As we begin a new year, the need for blood and platelets hasn’t faded with the holiday season.
Blood must be constantly replenished and ready for those in need of lifesaving care every day.
Justin Kern, Communications Director for the American Red Cross of Wisconsin, says that’s why the ARC and Pro Football Hall of Famer and blood donor Peyton Manning are teaming up this month during National Blood Donor Month to rally people to give now and help patients all winter long.
The next giving opportunity in our lakeshore area is tomorrow (Wednesday) January 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA at 205 Maritime Drive.
As an added incentive, Kern said those who come to give blood, platelets, or plasma between now and the end of January will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.
