A 50-year-old man was arrested in Manitowoc over the weekend on his 4th OWI.
Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department responded to a report of a car in the ditch line between the Walmart parking lot and Calumet Avenue at around 6:15 p.m. last Thursday.
Two witnesses told officers that they made contact with the driver, who had stumbled up the embankment, and was speaking incoherently before walking into the store.
Officers located the man near the entrance and noted numerous signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol, and the fact that could barely stand on his own.
The Officers began conducting a field sobriety test, but the man stopped and said “Just arrest me. I’m not going through this.”
A blood draw was conducted at Holy Family Memorial, and the man was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on a charge of his 4th OWI offense.
