Gas prices in Eastern Wisconsin are, on average, a little bit higher than they were to start 2022.
According to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, the average price per gallon of fuel in Manitowoc County is up 13 cents from this time last week, now at an even $3.00 per gallon.
Sheboygan County reported a jump of 12 cents to $3.02, while Calumet County saw a seven-day jump of 20 cents and is now averaging $2.98 per gallon.
Outagamie County saw an 18-cent bump to $2.98, while Brown County’s average is up 13 cents to $3.02.
Kewaunee County is now averaging $3.01 per gallon following an 18-cent increase, while Door County reported the biggest increase over the past week, jumping up 22 cents to $3.03 per gallon.
The state average followed suit, rising 17 cents to $3.02, while the national average is up 12 cents to $3.22.
Last year, our area started with an average of $2.99 per gallon, and this year, we are starting at an even $3.00 average.
The year-end average was $3.70 following two major spikes over the summer, which is 70 cents higher than the year-end average for 2021.
