
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority has revealed the 54 organizations in the state who will be sharing $2 million in grant funds.
Three of those organizations are in Sheboygan, Including Elevate, which provides services for young people.
They are slated to get $50,000 for renovations to a recently acquired building.
Also getting $50,000 is Habitat for Humanity Lakeside, who will use the case to replace a water heater, sump pump, concrete area, roof, and vinyl siding.
Partners for Community Development Inc in Sheboygan meanwhile is getting $35,00 to replace and install new water heaters.
Two Appleton organizations are also on the list of recipients.
Pillars Inc will be getting nearly $38,000 for bathroom repair and renovation, and to upgrade their security system, and COTS Inc will use $50,000 to replace their HVAC system.
Also in our area, Green Bay based Golden House, House of Hope Green Bay, and NeighborWorks Green Bay are each getting $50,000 for various projects.
The WHEDA Housing Grant Program’s goal is to assist in the improvement of the state’s housing for a variety of special needs populations.
