Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne has a new job.
Governor Tony Evers selected Payne to be the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, effective January 3rd.
Payne will be taking over for a retiring Preston Cole, who was appointed by Governor Scott Walker.
This is actually the second job change for Payne this year, as he previously announced that he was taking a position with the Wisconsin Counties Association.
While announcing the appointment, Governor Evers called Payne “an outdoorsman, a conservationist, and has been a strong, successful leader for Sheboygan County. I know he will bring that same dedication and spirit of service to this role as secretary.”
