Anna Mae Marlborough, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022 at St. Mary’s at Felician Village in Manitowoc.
Anna Mae was born December 2, 1932 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Anton and Laura Welch Oswald. Anna Mae grew up on a farm in Taus and attended a one room school house where her mother had been her teacher for part of her education. She graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1950. On August 11, 1951 she married James C. Marlborough at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Anna Mae was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and raised a caring family. She loved to bake and was an excellent cook, homemaker, and seamstress. Anna Mae attended sporting events for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to have fun traveling and attending Green Bay Packer football games. Anna Mae and Jim enjoyed many years with family and friends at their place in Sister Bay, Door County. She served her Manitowoc community at the election polls as a Chief Election Inspector. Anna Mae was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Clare Society, Catholic Women’s Club, and the Society of St. Vincent De Paul where she volunteered for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband Jim, of 71 years, four daughters, Patti (Dave) Wilke, Kathy (Gary) Ebert, Ann (John) Musial, and Mary Beth (Tom) Lukas, all of Manitowoc; twelve grandchildren, Laura (Jason), Brian (Jenny), Kevin (Sara), Brad (Melissa), Kristin (Dave), Eric (Jessie), Nathan (Melissa), Sarah (Stevens), John II (Gina), Melina (Chris), Natalie (Steve), and Jared (Sarah); 26 great grandchildren, five sisters-in-law: Kate Lambries, Mary Vogel, Carole (Roger) Schamburek, J’Ette Marlborough, and Alice Meyer; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Laura Oswald, one son, Jimmy, two brothers, Robert (Juanita) Oswald and Harold Oswald, one sister, Virginia (Elmer) Remiker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cyril and Helen Marlborough, two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Dolores (James) Kautzer, Madge (Dave) Burich, Lawrence Lambries, Chester Vogel, and Don Marlborough.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand Avenue from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s at Felician Village and Homecare Health Services and Hospice for the care and compassion that was given to Anna Mae during the time she was in their care. A special thank you to Nikki.
