A linebacker for the Bay Port Pirates will be playing football at the colligate level.
Senior Josiah Azure, who hadn’t played a snap of football until his sophomore year, signed a letter of intent on Monday to play for the North Dakota State Bison.
Azure led his team with 106 tackles, 24 of which were for a loss and 8 sacks, while forcing two fumbles in the Pirates’ 12-1 season which came to an end in the state semifinals.
Azure was also named to the 1st Team All-State and was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association.
Azure will be joining a fellow lakeshore area prospect, Offensive Tackle Trevor Fiecko, who is a Roncalli graduate.
