
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department was led on a 22-mile high-speed chase on Wednesday by a man believed to be high on heroin.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, a call came into the Fond du County Communication Center just after 10:00 p.m. reporting a reckless driver on I-41.
Deputies quickly located the driver heading north near Highway N and attempted to pull him over.
The 40-year-old man sped off, and at one point struck a vehicle carrying two adults and two children.
A tire deflation device was deployed, completely destroying the front passenger side tire.
Despite being on three tires, the man continued to flee before pulling over on Washington Avenue in Oshkosh and continuing to flee on foot.
K9 Iro was called into action, and when he closed in on the yet-unidentified man, he surrendered and was taken into custody.
In total, the chase covered 22.8 miles.
