Two prominent civic leaders in Two Rivers said goodbye to the City Council this week.
Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier attended his final Council meeting on Monday, as he sails off into the sunset.
He announced his retirement earlier this year and will be succeeded by the former Assistant Police Chief Ben Meinnert.
City Manager Greg Buckley told us the Meinnert is actually being sworn in today.
Also on Monday, the council bid farewell to Fire Chief Steve Denizen, who has taken a similar position in the Grand Chute Fire Department.
Buckley made a major announcement regarding that position, saying “Police and Fire Commission’s appointment of David Murack to serve as the interim Chief while recruitment goes on for a permanent replacement.”
Murack is currently serving as the Assistant Fire Chief.
The city is also thanking Dan Glaser for his time working for the city as a Certified Meter Technician while also searching for a Public Works Superintendent.
That position currently remains unfilled.
