A Manitowoc man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly used his girlfriend’s debit card without permission.
The victim called the Manitowoc Police Department on November 18th to report the theft. She explained that her on-again-off-again boyfriend is homeless, but had been sleeping at her place on occasion.
She noticed her debit card was missing after she received a notification from her bank that her account had insufficient funds.
It was determined the 22-year-old man had to have taken it as no one else would have had access to the card.
Police reports indicate he used the card to withdraw money five separate times and to make a purchase at the Marathon Family Pantry totaling $274.
The suspect was also seen on surveillance footage making the purchases. Officers were unable to locate the suspect until last Wednesday (December 14th) when he was arrested on an unrelated incident.
He has been charged with Theft of a Financial Transaction Card, Seven Counts of Fraudulent Use of a Financial Transaction Card, two counts of Attempted Fraudulent Use of a Financial Transaction Card, and ten counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
