One of many historic places in Sheboygan recently had a documentary made about its history.
The Sheboygan Armory was constructed in 1941 and was placed on the State Register of Historic Places in August of 2018, and the National Register in 2019.
It was then demolished in 2021 after it was determined to be in a state of disrepair that was not fixable.
Several attempts to repurpose the building failed, and thus, the building was torn down.
A documentary called “The Sheboygan Armory: A Part of the Community” dives into the history of the building and what it meant to the City of Sheboygan, and will be shown at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts on January 26th.
The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with the film starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Documentary will be made available to the public via the WSCS website and a copy of the production will be available for check-out from the Mead Public Library at a later date.
