The City of Manitowoc has mailed out the 2022 Property Tax bills.
We spoke with Mayor Justin Nickels about what homeowners can expect in this year’s bills, and he said citizens should be pretty happy overall.
“This year, we are looking at, when all is said and done, your property tax bill will probably be flat, or actually go down a little bit,” the mayor explained. “Unfortunately, the lottery and gaming credits are a little lower than they were last year, so those credits are going to effect the overall bill, along with all of the taxing entities put together.”
Those taxing entities include Manitowoc County, the City of Manitowoc, the Manitowoc Public School District, and Lakeshore Technical College.
As always, you can pay your bill at City Hall, but there are also some other locations you can pay as well.
“Either you can pay at UnitedOne Credit Union, Nicolet Bank, Bank First, Community First Credit Union, Associated Bank, or Shipbuilders Credit Union, which is new this year,” Nickels said.
City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 4:30 p.m., or you can pay online at Manitowoc.org.
If you pay with a credit card, there will be an added fee.
