A Green Bay teen accused of setting a fire that killed her 11-month-old nephew will stand trial
Marcelia Fonseca, who was 15 at the time of the fire in 2019 but will be tried in adult court on charges of Arson and 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
The delay in court proceedings stems from the fact that Fonseca’s attorneys were only assigned to the case two months ago and are still familiarizing themselves with the details.
Fonseca is accused of starting a fire at a home in the 2500 block of Wisconsin Avenue in June of 2019.
She denied any wrongdoing, an investigation determined the fire was started in her nephew’s room, and she was the last person seen in the room by family members.
No date for the trial has been announced, but it will be a two-week trial.
